Dr. Elana Putterman is a dermatologist and a Southern California native. She grew up in the South Bay and completed her undergraduate degree at Tufts University, where she graduated with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Spanish. She then attended medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, where she also completed a 1-year pediatric dermatology research fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), one of the country’s leading pediatric hospitals. She completed her internship at Baylor College of Medicine and her residency training at the University of Massachusetts outside of Boston, where she served as Chief Resident, designed the program’s academic curriculum, and spent one-year conducting clinical trials for new drugs used in the treatment of vitiligo. In her final year of residency, she completed additional specialized training in laser and injectable cosmetic procedures.
Dr. Putterman enjoys treating patients of all ages and practices pediatric, cosmetic, surgical, and medical dermatology. She uses an individualized approach to her patients and their families and is committed to making patients feel comfortable and confident. Procedurally, she practices with meticulous attention to detail and cares deeply about her patients’ results. Dr. Putterman is also proficient in Spanish.
She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Society for Pediatric Dermatology, Women’s Dermatologic Society, and American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, for which she served as the Resident Liaison throughout her training.
Outside of the office, Dr. Putterman enjoys running, hiking, Pilates, cooking, and spending time with her two children and dogs. She enjoys community outreach and volunteerism.
